A Royal portrait by Marcus Adams Ltd, London, was used as the
basis for the design for the 1950 Health stamp issue. The portrait featured Princess
Elizabeth and Prince Charles. The necessary approval to portray the
Royal portrait on the stamps was obtained from His Majesty King George VI.
