The ExFilna93 National Stamp Exhibition, Alcañiz, Spain 2.4.1993

The Stamp on the mini sheet on the cover depicts Easter Procession in Alcañiz. The mini sheet depicts The Holy Week procession (drummers) before calvary and Torre del Homenage (14th century) of the Castillo de Calatravos. Border depicts buildings (bell towers etc) of Alcañiz town.

The cover itself depicts the beautiful Town Hall (1565-1570), built in the main square, forming an angle to the Gothic Lonja. Both buildings were declared historical monument in 1931.

The ExFilna National Stamp Exhibition was held in Alcañiz, a town and municipality in the province of Teruel, in the autonomous community of Aragon, Spain. The town is located on the banks of the river Guadalope. Alcañiz is the unofficial capital of the Lower Aragon historical region. Its distance from Teruel, the provincial capital, is 149 kilometres and from Zaragoza, the capital of Aragon, 105 kilometres.

Thank you Merja for this lovely FDC.
