Welcome to this stamps, first-day covers and postcards gallery of mine euphemistically called Lets Talk Stamps. My desire here, is to show as often as I can, some of my presumed beauties and talk about them. And hopefully make Your Day in the bargain. In case you want a better view, JUST CLICK on the picture and it will be ENLARGED. Please also see my picture postcards blog www.mypicturepostcards.blogspot.in

Life at Sea 21.3.2012
On 21 March a self-adhesive stamp booklet, designed by Klaus Welp, was published as an addition to the Nordic Maritime 2012 series. The theme for 2012 is Life at Sea. Stamps with a similar theme will be published at the same time in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland, and on the Åland Islands, Faroe Islands and Greenland. The motifs of the Finnish stamps include the Finnish Border Guard's patrol vessel Merikarhu (Merikarhu means sea bear. The Finnish word merikarhu also means an old seaman) and the Finnish Lifeboat Institution's rescue cruiser Jenny Wihuri. This very attractive cover with the equally striking minisheet of two stamps was issued by Finland on 21.3.2012, and sent to me by my friend Ella.
